Parts, Patterns, and Perspective
is the heart of BioGraffs
-
Clients identify distinct Parts of their internal stories — emotions, memories, beliefs, thoughts — and assign each one a small object.
-
As they physically arrange objects into Patterns, relational and internal dynamics come into view.
-
By literally stepping back and looking at their BioGraff, clients gain distance, clarity, and Perspective. What felt tangled can become visible, speakable, and workable.

Earn 2 CE credits and learn how to do the BioGraffs Method® — a structured visual storytelling exercise that supports your clients’ internal processing, facilitates insight generation, and aids in communication.
The BioGraffs Method uses symbolic objects and spatial arrangement to help your clients represent their internal experiences, interpersonal dynamics and complex emotional content in a visual and shareable form, in such a way as to be relevant to the treatment of various issues, including sexual and relationship issues, depression, anxiety, psychedelic integration, grief, shame, trauma, and obsessive thought patterns.
The program is grounded in principles of narrative therapy, therapeutic externalization and distancing, experiential processing, and spatial cognition. It is designed to align with counseling theory and practice. You will learn how to select or craft therapeutic prompts appropriate to the method and the clinical situation; how to guide clients through the BroGraffs process; how to facilitate the clients processing of experiences into parts and the mapping of those internal experiences; and how to interpret and process with clients the resulting arrangements in ways that enhance clarity, deepen perspective, and foster relational connection.
You will also learn how to assemble the readily-available materials needed to do the method: a collection of small varied objects such as colored pebbles, paper, pens, and optional printouts of visual aids (included in program).
Through case studies, hands-on experience, breakout group role-play, and group discussion, you will develop the skills to use the BioGraffs Method in individual, couples, and group settings. The program also covers the theory behind the method, ways to adapt it to various clinical contexts, and best practices for prompt design and metaphor interpretation.
The content is appropriate for licensed counselors, social workers, marriage and family therapists, and other mental health professionals interested in adding a creative, somatic, and narrative-based intervention to their practice.
Discover how breaking inner experiences into parts, seeing hidden patterns, and shifting perspective can deepen reflection and catalyze transformation

Her career has always centered on helping people make sense of complex stories — a skill she now brings to the therapeutic and coaching fields through the BioGraffs method.
Originally developed from her interactive art installation, the Graphic Sex Project, that explored visual metaphors for intimacy, BioGraffs has since evolved into a powerful tool for working with individuals, couples, and groups.
Jennifer has led over 25 workshops for individuals, therapists, coaches, and facilitators across a range of clinical and educational settings.
She specializes in helping professionals integrate creative, nonverbal approaches into their practice to generate insight, bring emotional clarity, and improve client communication. Jennifer’s teaching style is hands-on, engaging, and grounded in both narrative theory and real-world application.
